GOLANSKI, Anna (née Hrynkiewicz) - It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anna Golanski (née Hrynkiewicz), 88 years, at Finlandia Nursing Home on Saturday, February 26th, 2011. Beloved wife of Antoni Golanski, predeceased. Loving mother of Richard (wife Cathy) and Ted Golanski, both of Sudbury. Special “Grandma“ of Stephanie (husband Trevor), Katie (Lucas), Matthew, Spencer, Marilyn (husband Peter), Allison and Elizabeth, and great-grandmother of Emily and Elliott. Predeceased by her sister Stephanie Wrzesinski of London and brother Nicolas of Poland. Aunt of Stanley Hrynkiewicz (wife Elizabeth) and Mary Chiapka (husband John) of London. Anna came to Canada from Europe after World War II with the hope of starting a better life for her and her family. She was a devout Roman Catholic, loving mother and grandma, and dedicated worker. She was also an active member of Sudbury's Catholic and Polish communities. Anna lived her life with pride, courage, strength, honour, kindness and selflessness. Her legacy will live on in the memories of her family members who will miss her dearly. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 1st, 2011 from 4pm-8pm at JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral prayers in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Wednesday, March 2nd, 2011 at 10am. Interment in the Civic Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Parkinson's Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
