GOLDER, Paul Ross - June 23, 1947 - January 22, 2012 of Wahnapitae, Ontario - Passed away in the very hospital he worked as a RN for the past 32 years, the Sudbury Regional on January 22, 2012 with the love and strength provided by the truest love of his life, Diane, his wife and best friend for 42 years, and other family members. As a nurse and care giver of the terminally ill for over 20 years of his nursing career Paul knew, understood, and felt deeply the needs of those as they experienced the struggles and loss of a loved one. During his last days he deservingly received the most professional and loving care from the same staff he worked alongside for those many years. He is survived by his loving wife Diane (nee Backer) of Wahnapitae. Predeceased by his son Robert (2009), father-in-law Harold Backer (2001). Survived by his mother-in-law Carmen Backer of Mattawa, Ontario. Born June 23, 1947 in Hartland, New Brunswick, son of the late Hazen Golder (1995) of Newburg, New Brunswick and Victoria (Vicki) of Smithers, B.C. Brother of Hazen Jr. (Jane) of Tottenham, Ont., Franklin (Anne) of Barrie, Ont., Dianna (Charles Hachey) of Bathurst, NB, Colin of Diamondhead, Mississippi, USA, Herbert (predeceased June 1961 Little Current, Manitoulin Island, Elizabeth Golder (Ron LeDrew) of Perth, Ont., and Harley (Faye) of Telkwa, BC. Special friend of Nola Golder of Manitoulin Island, Ont. Brother-in-law of Garry and Claire Backer, North Bay, Ont., Judy and Jean-Luc Duval, Leonard and Nancy Backer, and Dale (Andy deceased 2011) Jodouin, all of Mattawa, Ont. Special Pere to Sherry and Kenny Renouf, and Carl and Ashley Mathew, all of South Porcupine, Ont. Great-grandfather to Callie and Karter Renouf and Eva and Sophia Mathew. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury Wednesday, January 25th, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
