GOSSELIN, Ellen (nee McCauley) - Ellen Gosselin (nee McCauley) in her 83rd year, passed away Sunday, January 27th, 2013 at the Maison Vale Hospice. Born in Garson Ontario September 30th, 1930, to Bob and Mary (Bloy) McCauley. Wife of the late Remi Gosselin 2004. Loving mother of Mary- Elizabeth Paonessa, Jo-Anne Gosselin (husband Ernest Demore) and Joey Gosselin (wife Janice). Gramma, confidant and biggest supporter of Trina Mentrycki (husband Zenon), Jacy Demore, Kayla and Karly Gosselin. Great-gramma to Logan and Kassia. Dear sister of Peggy Quackenbush, Joseph McCauley and Mary Saftic (husband Walter). Predeceased by her brother Dick McCauley. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She married Remi in 1950 and they built their family home in McKim Township now known as New Sudbury. Together in 1957, they started Remi Gosselin Flooring. Ellen continued working every Thursday up until her 81st year. Aqua size, Tuesday bridge, golf, travelling and her famous baking were a few things that filled her busy schedule. Ellen and her sisters always took great pleasure in taking trips to the after hours clinic (code name for the casino). Win or lose, they always had a good time. Ellen was a woman of great faith, ahead of her time and you always knew where you stood with her. We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make our mother's final days comfortable, especially Dr. Bill and Imelda McMullen, niece Sister Sarah Quackenbush, Mary Saftic and the compassionate caring staff at Maison Vale Hospice. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 31st, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
