GRATTON, Mr. Roland “Rolly“ Wilfred Joseph - Age 62 years, passed away peacefully with family by his side in Hamilton Health Sciences Centre on Friday, February 3, 2012. Rolly was born on December 7, 1949 in Sudbury, Ontario. He was a quiet, gentle man who enjoyed his time with his family. He worked for the Kmart Company for 14 years, where he met the love of his life Costanza. During his years with the company he had the opportunity to travel throughout Middle and Western Canada. After that time Rolly worked for the DaVinci Centre and then Galaxy Lanes Ltd. until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and Sunday dinners with his family. He also enjoyed watching his granddaughters bowl and dance. Rolly is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Costanza (nee Castaldo); sons Christopher (Jaime), Adam and Michael and daughter Andria and granddaughters Zoe and Mallory Gratton; sisters Suzanne (Claude) Poitras and Carmene (Noel) Servais as well as by nieces and nephews Alain (Jeanine) Poitras, Sarah Poitras, Patrick (Jackie) Poitras, Julie (Pedro) Freire, Gabrielle (Steven) Mynerich, Marc (Lise) Servais, Isabelle, Gabrielle and Danielle Baril, Pierre and his children Bethany Baril and Tammy Baril. Other surviving relatives include sister-in-law Emilia (Claudio) Puiatti and their children Daniel, Andrew, Leanna (David) Heerema; brother-in-law Pellegrino and his children Nichole and Justin Castaldo. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father and mother Wilfred & Adrienne Gratton, sister Monique Baril, father and mother-in- law Antonio & Maria Castaldo and daughter- in-law Alicia Gratton. Funeral services for the late Mr. Roland Gratton will be held on Thursday, February 9, 2012 with family and friends gathering in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 12:10PM, celebrated by Father Joseph Arockiam. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, Thunder Bay, Ontario with Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Roland to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Foundation - Renal Centre would be greatly appreciated.
