Passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Beloved husband to Paulette Green. Loving son to Thecla Green (predeceased). Will be greatly missed by his children, John (Brooke), Angela (Jacy), Linda(Ezequiel), Andrea, and Chris. Beloved brother to Carol Green (Bob-predeceased). Special brother to the Furlottes, Robert (Carol), Reta (Rick), Joanne (Gary), Arden, Melanie (predeceased), Ken (Kate). And brother in-law to Jean, Bruno, Bruce (Sandra), Bernice, Debbie (Theodore), Bonnie, Carol, Joyce, Paula (Mike). He leaves behind grandsons Leandro and Luciano, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Reunited with his grandparents, Angela and John Green, his aunts and uncles, and our mama, Celina Aiabens.
Phil lived a full, beautiful, and happy life. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, kayaking, camping, hiking and fishing. When growing up in Killarney, his backyard was the LaCloche Mountains which he knew like the back of his hand. He would cycle from Killarney to Sudbury and have dinner and cycle back. He often kayaked to Wiky from Killarney to visit Paulette.
As a youngster he would hike to his grandfather’s trapping camp to Kirk Creek. He loved to travel, and rode his motorcycle across Canada and the United States.
Phil loved to hunt for moose, he would come across a fresh track and track it until he caught up with the moose. There are so many hunting stories that can be shared. He was known for his great sense of humour and “dad” jokes. Phil loved his family deeply, his children meant the world to him. He would tell them daily how much he loved them. He was a routine kind of man who had to have his “mush” in the morning and his “jackpot” (sweet treat) after dinner.
He loved to exercise and did so right until he took sick. He would go to the gym daily to workout. He also loved playing and watching hockey. In his younger days, he was a “topnotch” defenseman who played for the Killarney Northman. He loved to play the guitar and sing
In his early years, he worked for the Ministry of Transportation as a Surveyor. He then received his bachelor of education and taught for a few years. He also worked as an outdoor guide and took the youth on 10 day canoe trips on the French River/Georgian Bay. He loved working with the youth, they were drawn to Phil for his kind, patient, and gentle loving ways. In his later years he worked as a school bus driver.

Funeral Mass at the Holy Cross Mission, Wikwemikong on April 15, 11 a.m. Cremation to follow.
