In loving memory of Rita Lorraine Guay (nee Démoré), 85 years. Peacefully, Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Maison McCulloch Hospice, Sudbury with loving family at her side.

Beloved wife of John Guay. Cherished daughter of Dorima and Celina (Legault) Démoré, both predeceased. Dear sister of Alice Savoie (Alphonse) both predeceased, Florence Dupuis (Anthyme) both predeceased, Simone Fontaine predeceased (Roger), Sylvio Démoré (Betty) both predeceased, Yvonne Johnston (Ted predeceased), Jeanne DuBreuil (Clifford predeceased), Anne Gascon (Claude, predeceased), Gerry Démoré (Gloria), Alphonse and Rhéal Démoré (both predeceased). Special sister-in-law and best friend to Violet Landry (Victor predeceased). Sadly missed by many loving nieces and nephews.

The family expresses their appreciation to the Maison McCulloch Hospice, the March of Dimes and Bayshore Nursing Staff, especially to Nurse Kelly and Nurse Practitioner Sara Peterson for their excellent care and support.

Born and raised in Hanmer, she married John Guay at St. Jacques Church in 1954. She was a devout catholic having faithfully attended Our Lady of Peace Church. She has resided in Capreol the past 20 years. She loved music. She played guitar and sang beautifully. Also, she enjoyed playing cards. She was a well loved aunt to her many nieces and nephews and a beloved wife to her husband John who fondly called her “Doll”.

Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4601 Michelle Driver, Hanmer. (Friends may call 2-4pm and 6-8pm Friday, June 30, 2023, with parish prayers at 7pm and visiting after 9:30am Saturday). Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Peace Church, Capreol, Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11am. Cremation with entombment in the Capreol Cemetery.

In lieu of flower, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
