GUINDON, Orietta “Rita“ (née Rochon) - Peacefully passed away in Sudbury surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Daughter of the late Hermenigilde and of the late Colombe (née Belair) Rochon. Wife of the late Laurent “Larry“ Guindon, predeceased in 1996. Cherished mother of Rick Guindon (Jacqueline “Jackie“) of Sudbury and Lise Ferguson (Barry) of Brechin. Predeceased by her daughter Linda Talbot (late Yvan Eden). Dear sister of Damien, Rejean, Yvon (Irene), Claude (Bonnie), Barbara Ingram (Jack), Onile (Anita), Viviane Quesnel (late Maurice), Mercedes Rochon, Marie Lou Aubin (late Clement) and Rejeanne Baker (Wayne). Predeceased by her siblings; Emerise Derksen (late Neil), Yolande Dubé (late Léonard) and Reantal Rochon. Sadly missed by Henriette Guindon (late Jean- Guy) and Fernande Guindon (late Fernand) both of Québec.Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Chad (Anka), Joël (Alexis), Todd (Cindy), Michel, Stephanie and her great-grandchildren, Brandyn, Harris, Jordan and Maddox. She was born in Gogama and moved to Timmins where she met Larry, the love of her life. They eventually settled in Sudbury. She was an avid bingo player and bowler, volunteering many years for the YBC at Notre Dame Bowl. She was most happy when spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her kind generosity and witty sense of humor. A world of thanks to the wonderful staff at Pioneer Manor, especially Park Place and The Lodge on 2nd floor, as well as friends and family. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury on Wednesday, October 24th, 2012 from 2-5 and 7-9:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 25th, 2012 at 10 a.m. in Ste-Anne des Pins Church, Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to Pioneer Manor in Rita's honour would be greatly appreciated.
