Maxwell “Guy” Hancock

August 10th, 1944 – March 17th, 2024

Guy passed away peacefully on March 17th, 2024 at the age of 79.

Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Shirley (nee Randell), they began an incredible life together as best friends, his priority was his family. Loving father of Barry Hancock (Laurie Sinclair ), Diane Hancock (Robert Frame) and Dean Hancock (Kim). Beloved Poppy to Crystal Stewart (Justin), Jaymie-Lyne Paches (Daniel), Dean “DJ” Hancock (predeceased). Great Poppy to Liam and Kayleigh Stewart.

Born August 10th, 1944, in Roddickton, Nfld to Beattie and Susie (Humby) Hancock, predeceased. Dear brother of Mae Johnston (Ron), Ervin Hancock (Linda) and Percy Hancock (Joanne). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews.

Guy loved being outdoors, cutting wood in the bush followed by a big lunch, or fishing on the French river with family and friends.

Guy was a man with a kind heart and who would gladly give the shirt off his back to help his family, friends or someone in need.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but the light of his life will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.

A special thanks to the Maison McCulloch Hospice for taking special care of Guy during his final days with cancer.

At Guy’s request, a private family Funeral Service was held at Glad Tidings Church with interment in the Civic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
