HARVEY, Melanie

February 22, 2011 39

HARVEY, Melanie - On February 15, 2011, Melanie Harvey's (Pushkarenko) life was taken as a result of a motor vehicle accident at the age of 39 years. Melanie was the cherished wife of Richard Harvey of Dunchurch Ontario, beautiful daughter of Alma and Walter (deceased) Pushkarenko of Sudbury, beloved sister of Nicholas and caring aunt of Sarah-Grace. Melanie's beauty was both inside and out. She had a presence about her that made her very approachable; especially to children. Melanie's gift of empathy towards autistic individuals was instrumental in improving their quality of life. Melanie's determination and persistence helped her overcome many personal challenges in her early years. Much credit is given to two teachers Rieta Cortis and Mrs. Sawkiw, who helped Melanie recognize her own strengths, thus giving her the confidence to succeed in whatever she chose to do. Although born and raised in Sudbury, Melanie embraced her new community of Dunchurch and touched the lives of many people there. Melanie often expressed her affection of and appreciation for Rick's extended family members who made their home in that community as well. Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, clients, co-workers will mourn Melanie, and her faithful canine companions Pebbles and Brandy. A memorial service, followed by a luncheon, will be held Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church, 2080 Lasalle Blvd., Sudbury, Ontario 705- 674-0346. All are welcome to attend. Arrangements entrusted to the TORRANCE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, Parry Sound, Ont
