HATZIS, Constantine (Gus) - In Loving Memory of Constantine Hatzis, 79 years. Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec 4th, 2012 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital with his wife and son by his side. Born in Tsotili, North-Western Greece he immigrated to Canada April 10, 1958 with his wife Andromache (Mahi), the love of his life for 55 years, settling in Sudbury, Ontario. Originally a labourer at Falconbridge Nickel Mines was promoted to the position of Shift Foreman, retiring after 32 years of service. Always willing to lend a helping hand and open arms to all neighbours who lovingly called him “Papou“ (grandpa in Greek). Involved in the community he played a major role in the building and maintaining of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (Sudbury, Ontario). Devoted countless years as religious cantor at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church (Sudbury, Ontario) and then later from 2002 at Greek Orthodox Church of Prophet Elias (Mississauga, Ontario). Beloved husband of Andromache (Mahi) (née Lolas), Loving father of Vasilios (Bill), Proud grandfather (papou) of Joanne (JoJo) and Sophia (SoSo). Dear son of Vasilios and Styliani Hatzis (both predeceased). Brother of Agesilaos, Demtrios (Taki), Sophia (predeceased), Georgia (predeceased) and Despina (predeceased). All reside in Greece. Visitation and prayer at the GLEN OAKS MEMORIAL GARDENS AND RECEPTION CENTER 3164 Ninth Line (403 & Dundas St.) Oakville, ON L6H 7A8, Thursday, December 6th, 2012 from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral to be held Friday, December 7th, 2012 at 10 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of Prophet Elias, 1785 Matheson Boulevard, Mississauga, ON with reception to be held at the church.
