In loving memory of Willy, who passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2022. At the age of 91.
Beloved husband of Catherine Viola Gushue (predeceased ). Loving father to William (Wendy), Rosemary (Michel predeceased ), Cathy, Michael (predeceased). Beloved grandfather of Michael, Renee (Eric), Angele (Anthony), Tabitha (Michael) and great grand sons, Trayden, Liam, Conner, Chase, Cory, Stephen and his great grand daughter Olivia. Dear son of Arthur and Gertrude Higgins. (both predeceased). Loving brother to John (Millie) both predeceased, Albert (Dorothy, predeceased), Doris (Peter, both predeceased), Julie (Jim, both predeceased), Freida (predeceased), Violet (Weldon) and Mary predeceased.
Born and raised in Newfoundland. Willy moved to Sudbury 55 years ago and worked for Vale until retirement. He was a very active man, being part of the WHEO (Widow Help Each Other Club). He loved to dance and play cards. Also a member of the YMCA, where he loved to swim. He enjoyed his long drives and the beauty of nature. Willy was a devoted family man, never missing a celebration with his family. He was a big presence in our family. He was a kind and gentle soul and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
