Alexander Ivan Hugh Hill. It is with sorrow that the family announces his passing in Sudbury on June 7th, 2010 at the age of 92. Loving husband of (Helene nee Rivard predeceased). Beloved father of Cheryl Hill-Wisniewski (Michael predeceased), Colleen “Chickie” O’Malley (Pat predeceased), Terry (Lise Levesque), David (Joyce), Maureen Friel (Rick) and Rick Dugas (Judith). Son of the late Hugh Hill and Gertrude (née Windsor). Survived by his brother Roy (wife Evelyn), brothers-in-law Bill Burkitt, Tom Taylor and sister-in-law Livia Rivard. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lauren, Adam, Meghan, Blair, Maxine, Matthieu, Rosalie, Mackenzie, Braden, Catherine, David, Kimberly, Kaitlyn, Siobhan, Elizabeth and 15 great-grandchildren. Alec spent many years as an active member of the Copper Cliff Police Force, ending his career as a sitting Justice of the Peace for the province of Ontario. He enjoyed travelling and upon his retirement spent many winters in Phoenix. A strong believer in physical fitness, he was a longtime member of the Sudbury YMCA. Alec was also proud of the fact that he played tennis well into his seventies. Family will receive friends and relatives at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, after 9:30am Saturday, June 12th, 2010 followed by a celebration of his life in the chapel at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
