Lynne Carol Hillock
1941-2024
With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Lynne Carol Hillock who passed away peacefully February 15th, 2024 at Health Sciences North, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and sister. Lynne's life journey began as the cherished daughter of Freda and David and blossomed into a beautiful family with her husband Ronald Gordon Hillock, to whom she was married in 1957, celebrating nearly seven decades of love and companionship. Their love story started in their childhood and continued as they built a life together on the serene shores of Lake Wahnapitae.
Lynne's professional life was marked by her exceptional skills as a cook. Lynne led the culinary team at the Sudbury Airport for many years when Sudbury held the Sudbury Air Shows. Lynne also supported the Dolphins Aquatic Club with her generous spreads while holding the ice dives yearly. Beyond her professional achievements, Lynne dedicated herself to volunteering within her community, particularly at the Skead Seniors Community Centre and 25yrs of service as a volunteer firemens wife, showcasing her unwavering commitment to service.
Her family, including her children, Leonard predeceased, (Denise Hillock) Gordon (predeceased Sandra Connolly), Marlene, (Brian Salvalaggio), grandchildren Lisa, Jaime, Melinda, and Jessica, along with her great-grandchildren Lily and Logan, stood at the heart of Lynne's world. Predeceased by her siblings, Wayne, Janice, Randall Jackson who remembers Lynne for her warmth and love she extended to all facets of her life.
Perhaps one of Lynne's most cherished pleasures was witnessing the tranquil beauty of sunrises and sunsets at her Lake Wahnapitae home, a simple joy that reflected her appreciation for life's serene moments. As we bid farewell to Lynne Carol Hillock, we celebrate her life legacy, and the undeniable mark she leaves on her family and community. Her spirit, characterized by love, dedication, and generosity, will continue to inspire those who knew her. Lynne's memory will be treasured forever as a guiding light of compassion and strength.
