Horne, Michael Graham

With tremendous sadness in our hearts, we share our father’s passing after a decade long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Mike was born in Rothwell, England on April 5th, 1934. He is predeceased by loving parents: Daphne (2001) and Dudley Horne (1981) and younger sister June Horne (2017) Mike leaves behind his loving wife, Josephine of nearly 65 years, his four children: Rosie, Bill (Elaine), Sue (Ron) and Mike jr. (Susan). A wonderful grampy to: Alec, Edric, Brendan, Ashley, Claudia, Maria and Emi.  Also mourning his loss are countless nieces, nephews, cousins and brother’s and sisters- in-law.

Mike had an amazing nearly 90 years as a graduate of Oxford University (MSc Chemistry), a passion for travel (Europe, and North America mostly), building things like: cottages, rotating homes, decks, docks, and home renos. Professionally, he was a chemist for CIL, Copper Cliff, On,  in Burbank CA, Buffalo NY and Toronto. He was passionate about teaching and spent 8 years at LEPSS and Lasalle collectively followed by 20 years at Cambrian College as both a teacher and administrator.

His greatest passions were undoubtedly spending time with family and friends, telling stories, a love for the outdoors, photography and socializing at weddings, birthdays, and family reunions.

Family and friends are invited to join us to attend a Celebration of his Life.  Details to be provided in the near future.
