HOWARD, Elwyn Troy

January 3, 2012 78

HOWARD, Elwyn Troy - In loving memory of Elwyn T roy Howard, 78 years, Friday, December 30th, 2011 at Pioneer Manor, Sudbury. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Rita (York) Howard, his daughters Wendy Foucault (Tim) of Chelmsford, Cindy Williamson (Mike) of Heidelberg, Ontario, his grandchildren Crystal (Paul), Amber (Jason), Matthew (Natalie) and Joshua and great-grandchild Payton. Dear brother of Minnetta Dahluick. Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Kenneth Howard, brother Darwin Howard and sister Margaret Fiorotto. Survived by his sister in law Leona. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Elwyn was proud to have worked for Falconbridge for 34 years underground as both a miner and a shift boss. He was very proud to be on the first Sudbury Wolves hockey team, the sport he loved. He was known for his marathon runs and later his neighbourhood walks. He ran from Lockerby Mine to home (Vermillion) after a day's work. He would then love to petit-point pictures and jewellery for hours for relaxation. Elwyn was a snowbird, spending winter months for 19 years in Texas, enjoying all his many friends, lending a helping hand to all those in need. Thank you to the staff and volunteers in the Alzheimer Lodge at Pioneer Manor who went that extra mile for our family. It is one of the finest facilities owned and operated by the City of Greater Sudbury. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society, Sudbury Chapter, would be appreciated. Memorial Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St. at Hazel St., Sudbury Monday, January 2nd, 2012 at 1pm. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. (Friends may gather after 12 noon Monday).
