HUNT, Theresa

December 19, 2012

HUNT, Theresa - It is with deep sorrow that the family of Theresa Hunt announce her passing on December 17, 2012 at Health Sciences North (Sudbury). Theresa will be sadly missed by her sister (and best friend) Betty Ozols (husband Al, predeceased), her two sons, Peter (Nicole, predeceased) and Ray (Carolyn), grandchildren Peter (Tammy), Patrick, Sarah and Ryan and many relatives in Pittsburgh. Theresa was predeceased by her husband Ray and parents Peter and Bridget Cosco. Theresa was a devoted mother, sister, and friend who gave unselfishly to help others. Never one to complain, but to embrace life's challenges and joys, Mom was always very positive. Even during her long and courageous battle with cancer, she always remained optimistic and ready for the next challenge - persistently applying her calm, fighting spirit and strong faith; If we could only have half of her strength, courage and wisdom. The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and clinical staff who rendered care so compassionately. Theresa was born in Sault Ste. Marie and moved to Timmins at a very young age, where this became home for the rest of her life. Theresa taught for 43 years with the Timmins Board of Education, spending most of her career at Flora Macdonald Public School. She enjoyed her work so much that she worked beyond retirement. Her positive and pleasant demeanor made her a well- respected teacher. She applied her excellent parenting and teaching skills with her grandchildren, to their benefit, during her retirement years. Theresa always felt fortunate and blessed to have the love and support of her “sewing gang“ throughout the years. They remained best friends from childhood and throughout life's journey. We will mostly miss Mom's smile and caring approach to all she did. The family would like to invite friends to a memorial mass on Friday, December 21, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church (Timmins). Interment in the Timmins Memorial Cemetery in Spring 2013. In lieu of flowers donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. To light a memorial candle, flowers, donations or messages of condolences available on-line at www.lougheed.org. Arrangements entrusted to the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME
