HYSEN, Dr. James

June 12, 2012 57

HYSEN, Dr. James “Jim“ Richard - In loving memory of Dr. James “Jim“ Richard Hysen, 57 years, who passed away Sunday, June 10th, 2012 at Health Sciences North. Beloved husband of Cynthia (Ralley) Hysen. Cherished father of Richard, David and Lisa. Loving son of Richard (predeceased) and Wilma Hysen. Dear brother of Dave (Debbie), Leslie, and Julie. Dear son-in-law of Allan and Virginia Ralley. Dear brother-in-law of Carolyn Somers (Bob), Karen Carpenter (David), Joanne MacIsaac (Greg) and Janis Ralley. Sadly missed by many relatives and friends. Jim was born in London Ontario. After graduating from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1980, Jim worked as a veterinarian in Sarnia and Oshawa before establishing the Lockerby Animal Hospital in Sudbury in 1987. Over the course of his 32 year veterinary career he has helped thousands of animal friends, a role he felt very privileged to have. In addition he contributed greatly to the veterinary profession through his volunteerism on the Board of the Sudbury District Veterinary Association, the Northern Ontario Veterinary Association and the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, where he proudly served as President in 2009. He was a true inspiration to everyone he worked with. Above all his professional accomplishments, his greatest pride was his children. Special thanks to Dr. Lopez, Dr. Knight and the nurses on the oncology floor of Health Sciences North for their kindness and care.
