HYTTI  Anna Kaarina - In loving memory of Anna Kaarina Hytti (nee Wallenius), who passed away surrounded by family, on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of Eino (Sepe) Hytti (predeceased 1970, and survived by his daughter Eija in Finland). Kaarina was predeceased by her siblings Olavi Wallenius, Maila Honkaniemi, Aini Koovisk and Jussi Wallenius (wife Irene). She was a loving and caring aunt of Paula, Tiina, Paul, Mailiis, Leila, Peter, Robbie, Maria, and Ken of Canada and Heikki, Aulikki, Paavo and Hannu of Finland as well as Hilkka and Tim (predeceased). She also leaves behind cousins and many friends in Canada and Finland. Born in Lappajarvi, Finland she came to Canada in 1953 and worked for many years at Leinalas Bakery. She was a member of the Sudbury Finnish War Veterans Association. During the war she served at the front in the Lotta Svard Women's Auxiliary Corps. A woman of great faith, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, was an important part of Kaarina's life. In former years she sang in the Church Choir, was a member of the Ladies Aid and served on the Congregational Council. She was still an active member of the Mission Circle of the church. She was a founding member of The Sudbury Finnish Rest Home Society and was one of the first residents of Finlandia Koti. She was an active participant in the many activities at Finlandia Village, and was an avid reader, knitter and weaver. She was always interested in and had a special bond with all the younger members of her extended family. Those whose lives she touched will miss her greatly. Resting at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent Street at Hazel St. (Friends may call 2-5; 7- 9 p.m. on Sunday). Funeral Service in St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 264 MacKenzie St. Sudbury on Monday, April 22nd at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
