JARRETT, H. Brian

Brian Harvey Jarrett, a dedicated father, career police officer, cherished friend and life-long resident of Sudbury Ontario, died unexpectedly on October 18, 2015 at the age of 67 while at home on Lake Ramsey. Brian is survived by his children Tamara (James) Terrill, Chera Jarrett and Darin (Jan) Jarrett and his six adoring grandchildren: Jaina, Carli, Luke, Ryan, Tyler and Paige. He is predeceased by his loving parents Jean and Harvey Jarrett and his brother Terry (Marilyn). He was a cherished uncle to Jodie (Don) Pinsent, Darcie (Mark) Jarrett-Tuite, Jamie (Roberto) Sofoifa and Heidi (Israel) Rodriguez and beloved dad to his Golden Retriever Samwise. He will be forever missed by his wife, cooking partner and travelling companion of 20 years Michal Vezina, Brian was born in Sudbury on May 8, 1948 to Jean Margaret Esther and Harvey Reginald Jarrett. He attended Brigham Young University graduating with a degree in business. Brian devoted the entirety of his professional policing career to community service, creating outreach programs aimed at helping at-risk youth, and First Nations groups. Following his retirement in 2005, he proudly served three years on the Parole Board of Canada. Brian was a devoted son and father. He was an accomplished chef, an avid traveler and known to most as the man who could make anything happen. To his family, he was a pillar of strength and courage, could be called upon at a moment’s notice and was loyal to all those he loved. He was the first contribute to local charitable organizations and open his home to anyone whose life he might better. He enjoyed the simple satisfaction that came from gardening, a well-executed home improvement project, fishing and a perfectly manicured lawn. Brian will forever be missed by his family, friends and all those whose lives he touched. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Thursday and after 9:30am Friday). Funeral Service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 900 Cambrian Heights Drive, Sudbury Friday, October 23rd, 2015 at 11am Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery.
