The world lost a beloved Mother and friend, Suzanne Joly, on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 at the age of 87 years.
Loving wife of Roland "Rolly" Bodson (predeceased). She leaves behind her children Normand Brabant (Predeceased), Lise Brabant (Dan), Louis (Heather) Joly, Debbie Lapointe (Darryl), Marc Joly and Blair (Wynter) Heindl. Treasured grandmother of Shawn, Joy, Michelle (Serge), Jamie, Oskar and Holden. Beloved Great-Grandmother of Damon, Danica, Gauge, Coral and Great Great-Grandmother of Christian, Leiden, Heaven, Ashton and Carmella. Dear Daughter of Rose Joly and Leandre Frappier (both predeceased). Cherished sister of Claude (Predeceased) (Marguerite) Frappier, Rita (Gilles) Bodson, Florence Bastedo, Jacqueline (John) (Ron Dixon) Thibault and Roland (Yvette) Frappier. Will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Having survived four open heart surgeries and various medical procedures throughout her lifetime, she certainly defied the odds. Ironically, it was not her heart that failed her in the end, as it was still beating until her final breath. She had been hospitalized at the Etobicoke General hospital (TO) in April of '23 due to health complications. She had been given days/weeks to live, albeit her determination to live, once again, further defied the odds, as she managed to stay with us for several more months. (Medical staff were perplexed.) Sadly, for us all, she eventually had to succumb to her calling. It's never easy to accept the loss of a loved one, especially a mother, but we should all take comfort in knowing that she is now without pain, and she is resting peacefully. It's also important to know that she was constantly in the presence of loved ones right until the very end. For that, a special thank you goes to Florence, Rita, Jackie, Debbie, Ayiah, Joe and Ron. Together, you formed an incredible support system for her. We are forever grateful!.
