KARI, Heikki - In loving memory of Heikki Kari, 82 years. Passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Pioneer Manor surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 58 years to Laimi Kari (Somppi). Loving father of Paul, Nancy Trottier (Francois), Sheila Marcotte (Daniel) and Leo (Tracy). Cherished grandfather of: Andrew, Natalie, Stephanie, Bryan, Tiffany, Joseph, Krista and Cameron. Dear son of the late Kustaa Kari and Vieno Iso-Somppi. Dear brother of Pentti, Paavo and Aino Hyyppa predeceased (Yrjo). Heikki was born in Kauhava, Finland; he came to Canada in February of 1952 looking for work and a new life. He married Laimi at St. Mathews Lutheran Church on January 23rd, 1954. He retired from Inco as a welder in 1989 with 32 12 years of service. Heikki was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and travelling to Florida. Funeral Service in the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME, 252 Regent St. Tuesday, December 4th 2012 at 11:30. Internment at the Civic Cemetery. Donations to the Parkinson or the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
