It is with deep sorrow that the family announce the passing of Patrica Anne Kemp on December 23rd, 2021, surrounded by family at at the Maison McCulloch Hospice. Pat was born in Toronto to Sally Gibbs and Sydney Kemp. A vibrant woman full of life, Pat was well known for her passion for community, volunteering, and philanthropy. She had a very caring and compassionate personality, a great sense of humour, and was quick to speak her mind. Always keeping her mind sharp with crosswords and word searches, she also enjoyed watching reality TV shows and following up after episodes with friends online. Pat cherished spending time with family, enjoying meals at her favourite restaurants, and dancing at the Legion.

She liked to travel, and visited countries such as Spain and Italy. While raising her two children and three grandchildren, Pat worked various part time jobs and ran a home daycare. She was an avid volunteer for many community causes and organizations. She always gave her time to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation, United Way, and 10 Rainbows Children, to name a few. She was a volunteer coordinator for Northern Lights Festival Boreal and Ribfest, and was an integral part of making Sudbury’s summer festivals run smoothly. Pat made a difference not only in her life, but in the lives of all those around her. A proud mother and grandmother who was dedicated to her family, she is predeceased by her daughter Debbie Shipley (2020), and will be deeply missed by her son Michael Shipley, her grandchildren Cassandra Shipley, Beth Saraiva, Matt Hickey (Ashley), Jordan Hickey, and Daniel Hickey, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ethan Brandt-Hickey and Olivia Hickey.
