Johnathan Karry King passed away peacefully on April the 1st 2024 @ the age of 84.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol King (Robinson) of Hanmer. Missed by his 4 children, Kathie Walli (Allan) of South Porcupine, Rhonda King of Fethiye, Turkiye(Dave) of Barrie, Trevor King (Staci), granddaughter Jaeden of Timmins, Cassandra Lay (Lorne), grandsons Tucker & Chase of Hanmer. His Cousin, Lesley Crocini of Qualicum, BC and her sons, Alan Burton of Timmins & Martin Burton of Canterbury Kent, England. He also leaves behind many relatives in England. He is predeceased by his parents Leslie & Kathleen King of Timmins.

Karry was a very kind man, always available to help others at a moment’s notice. Because of his friendly nature, he made many friends. He loved spending time & playing games with his grandchildren. Jiving with Carol at parties was a special part of his life! He appreciated nature especially when walking in the woods. Every summer he looked forward to gardening and sharing the fruits of his labour. He enjoyed fishing with friends, taking home videos, photography and developing his own film. He was an avid Bible reader and loved to share his faith with others.

He was born in Toronto, raised in Timmins. Karry married Carol in 1960. He was a hard worker, employed by A&P for most of his working life. They raised their family in Timmins and continued to reside there until 1986 when the A&P burned down. They headed to Huntsville and lived there for 21 years. Once their grandchildren were born Karry & Carol moved to Hanmer to be with them.

He had not been feeling well for the last few years. He is now sleeping, in peace, pain free, waiting for his God Jehovah to awaken him from death. As one of his good friends expressed, I’m sure when he wakes up he won’t mind learning that Jehovah allowed him to sleep for a bit.

Thank you to the doctors & nurses for the wonderful care Karry received during his final days of life at Health Sciences North Sudbury.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 3:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 3720 Old Hwy 69, Val Caron, ON P3N 1N2. Everyone is welcome. Snacks and refreshments will be served after the memorial service.
