LACOURCIERE, Norman J - In loving memory of Norman J. Lacourciere who passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 14th, 2012 at his residence at the age of 77. Predeceased by his long time companion Elsie Babiuk. Stepfather of Linda McArthur predeceased (husband Richard of Sudbury), Vicki Marcuccio and Diane Chaulk (husband Wade) both of Sudbury, Michael Babiuk (wife Donna) of Coniston and Donna Cutler (husband Ken) of Wasaga Beach. Papa to Tammy, Sheri, Michael, Amanda, Alanna, Trevor, Craig, Darryl, Kristopher, Nathan and Chad and great-grandfather of Sarra, Adam and Abigail. Dear brother of Jerry (wife Kathleen) of B.C., and George, Albert, Paul, Noel, Cecile, Rolland and Frank all predeceased. Norm was the second youngest of 9 children. He left home in Saskatchewan in 1954 to join the air force and served as an aircraftsman until he was honourably discharged in 1957. He joined one of his brothers who had moved to Sudbury; and like him Norm first found work with INCO. After becoming a a Class A mechanic, Norm worked in several Sudbury garages before securing work with E. B. Eddy at their Ramsey site. An avid and passionate fisherman, Norm especially loved the Ramsey area, getting there as often as he could even after retiring. At his request, there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 1pm. A celebration of Norm's life will follow. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
