LAFORGE, Leo - In Loving Memory of Leo Laforge, 83 years, who passed away peacefully at the Sudbury Regional Hospital, Tuesday May 10th 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Rena (nee Bertrand) Laforge. Loving father of Denise Laforge and Carole Laforge both of Sudbury, Don Laforge of Hamilton, Gerry (Gail) of Houston B.C., Michelle Boutilier (Steve) of South Porcupine and Nicole Laforge of Scarborough. Predeceased by his children Linda Champagne (Richard of Wahnapitae), Wayne and Sharon. Cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Dear brother of Raymond (late Pauline) of Oshawa. Predeceased by his parents Omer and Maria (nee Gauthier) Laforge and his brothers Fred (Lois of Arizona) and Rolland (Louise of Montreal). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by special friend Audrey McHugh of Sudbury. A heartfelt thank you to his sister in law Bonita Bertrand for the great care and help she provided to Leo. Fondly remembered by many nephews, nieces and cousins. Leo was a proud iron worker with a strong work ethic. He was a dedicated, conscientious construction foreman working on many international, national and local building projects such as Laurentian Hospital, the City Centre and others. He was a member of the Ironworkers Union 786 for the last 52 years. He had a wonderful sense of humour, enjoyed winters in Florida until five years ago when ill health slowed him down. In his younger days he was known as “Zing“ for his love of speed and unfortunate knack for crashing cars. He was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
