LALONDE, Claude - The family announces with sorrow, his death on Monday, April 16, 2012 at the age of 78 years. Son of the late Arthur Lalonde and the late Aurore (née Richer) Lalonde. Beloved husband of Phyllis (née Mitchell) Lalonde. Loving father of Sandra Lafontaine (Norm), Phil Lalonde (Lise Gagné) of Chelmsford, Sherry McCann (Kelly) of Azilda and Kim Clement of Garson. Dear brother of Marcel Lalonde (late wife Réjeanne). Predeceased by Edward Lalonde, Ray Lalonde and Edna Clément. Dear brother-in-law to Harry Mitchell (Ann), Charlie Mitchell (Province), Doris St- Jacques and Lois Alkenbrack (Colan). Cherished grandfather of Liane, Ashley, Eric, Tiffany, Tina, Craig, Sherry and 3 great grandchildren Macie, Arianna and Mika. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended relatives and friends. Claude worked at Falconbridge Mines for 30 years and retired in 1991. He enjoyed playing euchre, camping, fishing, playing baseball, coaching and umpiring. He always cheered for the Blue Jays and as for hockey, the Montreal Canadians. The family would like to thank the ICU staff at the Health Sciences North for their tremendous care and support. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691 R R 15, Chelmsford, Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 1-4 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Cooperative Funeral Home Chapel, Chelmsford. Donations (by cheque only) to the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
