It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of a beloved husband and father, Denis “Deno” Lamoureux on February 3, 2024, at the age of 73 years.

Denis was a devoted husband, and his marriage to his wife Norah (née Patry) Lamoureux lasted for an impressive 50 years. Together, they built a life filled with love and countless memories.

Loving father of Meegan Desforges (Mike) of Burlington, Darren Lamoureux (Désirée) and Trevor Lamoureux (Renée); cherished and proud grandfather “Grandbo” to Alexa, Emily, Kayden, Taylum and Avery.

Son of the late Paul Lamoureux and the late Sébastienne (née Boyer) and son-in-law of the late Eugene Patry and the late Alice (née Cosgrove) Patry. Dear brother of Angèle Lamoureux, Marielle Joly (Jacques), Gérard (Carole), Claude (Denise), Lise Bishop (Don), Micheline Lamoureux and Jacques (Sandra). Predeceased by his siblings Marcel (June), Aurèle (Isabelle) and Gilles (Madeleine). Dear brother-in-law of Jane Rodrigue (Gerry), Heather (Mike) Duval and of the late Doug Patry (Marge) and the late Jim Patry (Lori). Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Throughout his life, Denis had a remarkable journey in the working world. He dedicated 35 years of his career to Vale Inco as an electrician until he retired in 2005. In 2016, he embarked on a new endeavor, founding Taylum Electric alongside his son, Darren. Denis took immense pride in his electrical work and was known for his ability to get things done efficiently and effectively. Denis was known for his strong character. He was not one to mince words, and never shied away from expressing his opinions. Alongside his straightforward nature, Denis displayed remarkable generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.

In addition to his professional achievements, Denis was an active and well known member of his community. He established the Azilda Pickerel Hatchery, where he contributed his time and efforts to preserving the Azilda rearing pond. Denis's passion for the outdoors manifested in his hobbies of hunting and fishing. He found solace and joy spending time at his cottage on Whitewater lake and working in his garden.

A celebration of life will be held to honour Denis's life, where his closest family and friends will come together to celebrate his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Kidney Society.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Singh, Dr. Walton and nurses Erin and Doris for their exceptional care and support.

Denis will be dearly missed by his loving family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of hard work, determination, and generosity will continue to inspire others for years to come.
