LANE, Jean (Burton)

In Loving Memory of Jean Lane (nee Burton) 92 years Peacefully Friday, December 7, 2012 at her home. Beloved wife of the late Lenox Lane (deceased, 1996). Cherished mother of Carleton of Sudbury and Scott of Toronto. Dear sister of the late Mabel Harvey (Robert, deceased) of Toronto, the late Robert Burton (Joan, deceased) of Sudbury, and John Burton (Louise) of North Carolina. Daughter of Lester and Ina Burton (nee Jacobson), both predeceased. Loved dearly and sadly missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Jean took great pride in entertaining family and friends and her contagious laughter will long be remembered. She was an accomplished bridge player and an avid swimmer. In recent years, in the face of medical complications, Jean’s spirit was sustained and enlivened by her inner “sisu”, the Finnish quality of strength of will and perseverance. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life for Jean Lane will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
