The family announces with sorrow Ron's death in Sudbury, Saturday March 16, 2024 at the age of 77 years.
Son of the late Harold LaPlante and of the late Dorothy Reid. Loving husband of Angela LaPlante (Vesel). Dear father of Ronald LaPlante jr.(Maria) and of Troy LaPlante (Cori). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Owen, Rachel, Aiden and Ethan. Ron is also survived by his brothers Brian, Joseph and by his sister Maureen Farr. Predeceased by his brother Alan.
After a successful 35 year career with Bell Canada, he retired and enjoyed being in the presence of his family and friends. His gentle demeanour would make people feel comfortable and appreciated. Kind and generous, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the nurses on the 4th floor at Health Sciences North and Dr. Moore (Emergency Physician) for the excellent care provided.
A celebration of life will be held at Brystons on the Park in Copper Cliff on May 4th from 2pm to 5pm.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Maison McCulloch Hospice, Sudbury.
