LAST, Albert - (1933-2011) - It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Albert Last, 78 years, on November 3, 2011 at the Maison Vale Hospice. Beloved husband and best friend of Lorna Last (nee Weslake) of Azilda. Loving father of Allen of Lindsay, ON, infant son Joseph (deceased), Donald (Louise) of Flin Flon, MB, Mark (Paula) of Bowmanville, ON, Grant (Shelley) of Dowling, ON. Grandfather of seven grandchildren and great-grandfather of four. Predeceased by his parents Roy and Ann (step-mother Elise), and sister Beulah (Lorenzo, deceased) of Ottawa, ON. Dear brother of Howard (Lucy) of Scotia, Nebraska, USA, Ann of Surrey, BC, Father Michel of Montreal, QC and Diane of Ottawa, ON. Albert had a varied career in the mining industry, working for a number of contractors, INCO, and Falconbridge as well as being involved with mine rescue for many years and retired as a Ministry of Labour (Ontario) safety inspector in 1996. After retiring he worked with Norcat, teaching safety until 2009. He was very proud of his time as a teacher. Albert enjoyed gardening, house renovations, some travelling, bingo and mostly being with his family. Albert will be missed by all. The suffering has ended, rest in peace. The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 4691, R R 15, CHELMSFORD, , Tuesday evening from 4-6:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 6:30 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, Chelmsford. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to Maison Vale Hospice are appreciated.
