LAURIKAINEN, Raili Annikki (née Valkonen) - In loving memory of Raili Annikki Laurikainen (née Valkonen) 78 years Friday, November 16th, 2012 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury. Daughter of Kalle and Aino Valkonen both predeceased. Beloved wife of Pentti Laurikainen predeceased. Loving mother of Olli (Judi) of Ottawa and Vesa (Kelly) of Sudbury. Grandmother to her precious “Kultas“ Derek (Katie), Tara (Chris) and Stephanie. Dear sister of Kaarlo, Heiki, Ilkka and their families all in Finland and predeceased by Sylvi, Helvi, Sirkka and Hannu. Raili was also a special part of the lives of Markku (Ritva), Mauri (Merja) and their children in Finland. Raili had a very close knit group of friends in the Finnish community and also treasured the special people in her extended family. People cherished her baking and her courteous soul. She was very involved in her church and was best known as the “pulla“ and “piirakka“ queen of Sudbury. She enjoyed time with her family fishing, swimming and going to the sauna at the camp at Lake Panage. Special thanks to the medical care teams at the Cancer Centre and the HSN 4th Floor Oncology Unit. Memorial Service at the LOUGHEED FUNERAL HOME 252 Regent St., at Hazel St., Sudbury on Tuesday, November 20th, 2012 at 11 AM. Friends may gather after 10 AM. In lieu of flowers donations to the HSN- Oncology Unit or to St. Matthew's Finnish Lutheran Church.
