LAVOIE, Claire - It is with great sadness that we announce that our sister, Claire Lavoie, has passed away peacefully in Ottawa at her residence on July 22, 2010 at the age of 59, surrounded by family and friends. As a member of the L""Arche (Ottawa) Community for the past 36 years, she was an inspiration and a source of joy for many. She has taught us all the gift of giving, understanding and acceptance. She was, and is a true treasure. She""s our “Special Angel“. Predeceased by her parents, Phillippe and Thérèse, dear sister of Cécile Roussel (Gerry), Roger Lavoie (Jacqueline) both of Sudbury, Lillian Alain (Bob), Paulette Dyke (Chris) both of Ottawa. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and also by all the members of the L""Arche Community. The family will receive relatives and friends at Ste. Etienne Church in Dowling, Saturday, September 4th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a reception at Happy Face Place (445 New Cobden Rd.). In lieu of flowers, donations by cheque in memory of Claire to L""Arche Ottawa (11 Rossland Ave., Ottawa, ON K2G 2K2) would be appreciated.
