It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roger Lavoie on Friday, July 14, 2023, at the Maison McCulloch Hospice in Sudbury.

Beloved husband of 52 years to Jacqueline (nee Depatie). Loving father of Ginette Berthiaume (Rheal) and cherished grandfather to Valérie and Luc.

Born in Schumacher on August 18, 1946 to the late Phillipe Lavoie and Therese Dignard (nee Pinard).

Dear brother of Cecile Roussel (Gerard)(both predeceased), Lillian Alain (Robert) (both predeceased), Claire Lavoie (predeceased) and Paulette Dyke (Chris).

Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, Lynn, Kim (predeceased), Alain, Lisa, Robert, Chantal and Phillipe.

Roger has a larger-than-life personality, a caring heart and loved to sing, but most importantly, he was a HUGE HABS FAN.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice for their exceptional care during Roger’s last days. A special thank you to his cousin/chum Ron and Paulette Pinard for their continuing support during his stay at the Hospice.

Keeping to his last wishes the family will receive family and friends at the Lougheed Funeral Home, 252 Regent Street, Sudbury, 11am to 1pm, Tuesday, July 18, 2023 with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated.
