Robert Julian Lee

January 30th, 1953 – January 27th, 2024

Robert Julian Lee passed away on January 27th, 2024 at the age of 70 on Manitoulin Island, surrounded by his loved ones.

Robert was born in San Fernando, Trinidad to his parents Robert and Mona. Robert moved from Trinidad to New York for school and met his future wife, Evelyn. Robert followed his heart and moved to Montreal where he and Evelyn laid down their roots and started their family. Robert and Evelyn had three children; Christine, Robert, and PJ. Robert enjoyed a fulfilling career with Accord Financial Corp. and moved his family to Toronto.

20 years ago, Robert and Evelyn found their paradise and retired on Manitoulin Island where they enjoyed a life of peace and quiet, and where he fulfilled his passions.

Everything Robert did, he did with all of his heart. Robert spent his days enjoying his hobbies such as fishing with a great group of friends, breeding racing pigeons and goldfish, growing bonsai trees, orchids, and cross-breeding apple trees. Robert had a special passion for baseball and helping kids grow as players and people. He coached for over 20 years with players of all levels from children, elite, and the Special Olympics.

Robert is pre-deceased by his father Robert and his sister Glenda. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, and his three children and their families Christine and John McNaughton (Robyn-Ashley), Robert and Elisha Lee (Kenny, Olivia, and Brooklyn), PJ and Chelsea Lee (Lottie and August), his mother Mona, his sister Glenda’s family, John Dube (Michael and Brenton), his sisters and their families Carmen and Peter Attong (Hessalene, Charlene, Christian), Margaret and Alex Chin (Katherine, Victoria, and Andrew), and his brother Francis & Annette Lee (Adam and Matthew).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Manitoulin Island at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Mindemoya Hospital, whose staff took great and compassionate care of Robert throughout his cancer journey.
