It is with broken hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert Legault in Sudbury, Friday March 24th 2023, at the age of 80 years. Son of the late Laurier Legault and the late Sarah Legault (née Miron). Loving husband of Frances Legault (née Madore). Dear father of Patricia Legault (Robert), Karen Hnatuk (Dan), Cathy Legault (Stéphane) and Nancy Legault (James). He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Michael (Jenny), Darin (Tanya), Brandon (Renee), Shannah (Chris), Justin (Brooklynn), Kristie, Nyckolas (Ally), Matthieu, Britney (Matt), PJ, Jacob, Amélie and Liam and his 14 great-grandchildren. Survived by his sister Solange Dorion (Claude). Predeceased by his siblings Thérèse Armitage, Norma Chartrand, Rhéal and Claude, Gilbert (his twin). Also survived by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Bob was born in Warren, Ontario and grew up in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, before settling in Sudbury, where he met the love of his life, Fran. They built a beautiful life and family together and remained best friends for 65 years. Their devotion to each other never wavered. He was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He loved his family and extended family very much and was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. He retired after 32 years in mining at INCO. He was an avid fan of most sports; especially the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and Buffalo Bills.

Bob’s favourite place on earth was Dalton, Ontario where he spent summers at camp with extended family and friends who visited. He loved being a fishing guide for his grandkids and could be found on the water trying to catch pickerel at the jug or up the rapids with Fran, his kids, or the in-laws. He was an excellent storyteller and had a great sense of humour. He loved travelling and road trips. During retirement, he enjoyed many jaunts from east coast to west coast, and south of the border with his love.

At Bob’s request, there will be no celebration. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Cremation services provided by Simple Wishes of The North, Sudbury.
