LEMIRE_Louise

It is with broken hearts we announce that Louise Lemire, who’s smile could light up a room, passed away on Thursday, February 18th, 2021 at the age of 67. She was the most loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend you could find, and she will be greatly missed. Louise was born in Temiscaming, Québec to Simon Gagné and Dorothy Dorval. It is also where she met Nelson Lemire, the love of her life, to whom she was married for over 49 years. They built a wonderful life together in Hanmer, Ontario and raised two beautiful children. Over the years she was a loving daycare provider for many families whose children she loved as much as her own. To this day many of those children still keep in touch with their “LouLou”. Louise is survived by her children Chantal and her son-in-law David Cooke; Wayne and her daughter-in-law Jennifer (Rice); her grandchildren Julie Ann, Isabelle,  Andrew, and Jeremy;  her siblings Gerry (Caren) Gagné, Ray (Viv) Gagné, Carolle (Roger Laporte) Gagné, Rejeanne Gagné and Pauline (Luc Denis) Gagné.  She is predeceased by her father Simon Gagné, her mother Dorothy Dorval, and her stepfather Gerald “Bucko” Mayhew. She also leaves behind many cherished sisters-in-law and brothers in-law, nieces and nephews. It broke our heart to lose you, but you didn’t go alone; part of us went with you the day God took you home. Due to current COVID pandemic conditions, no service or funeral will be held at this time. A celebration of Louise’s life will be announced at a later date. Donations can be made to Maison McCulloch Hospice. Louise’s stay at Maison McCulloch was short but we were very appreciative of their care and compassion during a difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted with Ranger’s Cremation and Burial Services Ltd. Online condolences can be posted at www.RangersSudbury.com.
