LEPAGE, Helen

August 1, 2012

LEPAGE, Helen (nee Szarko) - It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Helen (Szarko) Lepage on Friday, July 20th in Brantford Ontario. Helen grew up in Azilda where she met and married Mike Lepage before settling in Brantford. Helen enjoyed gardening especially growing her lemon trees. She was an awesome cook and would always make sure your favourite family recipe was on the table when you visited. Her greatest pleasure came from the “Grey Ghost“ their 1953 Chevy. She could always gather up the energy to go cruising in the “Ghost“. She adored her family and was always there to provide love and support to family and friends whenever necessary. Those whose lives she touched understood that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. Beloved wife of Mike Lepage; loving mother of Terri and Daryl; treasured grandmother of Taylor Dylan, Devon, Lauren and Alex. Predeceased by her parents Steve and Margaret Szarko. Cherished sister of Margaret (Monci) and her husband Pierre; Steve (Pitu) and wife Patti; Frank, Annie, Johny and wife Dagmar and her extended family Valerie Wislon and Karen Rocca; daughter-in-law of Gracis Legage; sister-in-law of Paul, Gilles, Gineette and Jo Ann. She will be sadly missed by her canine companion Maggie. As per Helen's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. God saw her getting tired; a cure was not to be. He wrapped her in his loving arms and whispered “Come with me.“ She suffered much in silence, her spirit did not bend. She faced her pain with courage, until the very end. She tried so hard to stay with us but her fight was not in vain, God took her to His loving home and freed her from the pain. Anonymous
