LEVESQUE, John

March 19, 2012 97

LEVESQUE, John Edmund “Red“ - - - - RED'S BARBER SHOP - - - a gathering of multitudes for not just a hair cut and a shave( for .25 cents) but most of all, for conversation and story telling for over 50 years. That's our Dad and he passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, March 15, 2012, at Health Science North, Sudbury. Dad was due to celebrate his 98th birthday in April but became ill in February and just never recovered. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 67 years, Loretta (Lorrie)(nee Molloy). Lovingly remembered by their six children, Judith Ross (Michael), Toronto, Nicole (Nickie), Arnprior, Bruce (Linda), Sudbury, Dail (Lorraine), Ottawa, D'Arcy (Laurel), Belleville and Mark (Jo- Ann), Sudbury. Loving Grandpa of Justin (Erin), Tara (Marc), Sudbury, Kaili (Lawrence), Ottawa, Liam (Shannon), London, England, Kelly, Julie, Joseph, Belleville, and John, Sudbury. Cherished Great Grandpa of Elizabeth, Sarah, Emily, Melissa, Luella Mae, Milo and Eleanor. He was predeceased by his parents William and Josephine, his brother William (Bill) and sister Eva. His older brother Laurier is still living in Renfrew. Dad was born in Fergus Lee in his beloved Ottawa Valley, the place where a thousand stories originated. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunted and fished extensively. He especially loved his hunting trips on Manitoulin Island with his long time friends. He was a barber for over 50 years, an avid curler and a long time member of Christ the King and St Patrick's Parishes. Best of all, he was known for his awesome stories and unbelievable memories of the past. Cards were his passion as well as playing checkers. His favourite card games were euchre and cribbage and finally in January 2011, he was rewarded with a perfect hand. He built our family camp on Clearwater Lake in 1951 and it became our paradise for 42 years. We have fond memories of the endless summers filled with family, friends, lots of great food and last but not least, the steam baths. Following his cremation, there will be a Memorial Mass on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 10:00 am at St. Patrick's Church on Walford Road with reception to follow in the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
