In loving memory of Arvo Reino Liinamaa, 79 years, who passed suddenly on Saturday, January 27th, 2024, at Finlandia Village, Sudbury.

Beloved father to Paul Andrew, Kristina Susan, Daniel Martin (wife Roberta) & David Allan predeceased. Loving Papa to Trevor, Kendra, Jaycob, Maddox, Aila, and Hayden. Devoted & loving son of Viljo and Toni Liinamaa both predeceased. Dear brother of Aura (Bill Koivu), Arthur (Claire), Aira (Antero Rauhanen), Arlene (Richard Manninen), Arnold, Arvi, Aato, Arne, Allan, and brother-in-law of Betty (Dan) Pendleton all predeceased. Survived by many nieces and nephews.

Arvo will be greatly missed by his children, grandchildren, extended family, and many friends.

He will be fondly remembered for his loving, kind and compassionate nature, his giving and generous spirit, and unwavering "Sisu". He worked at Inco as telecommunications technician and electrician in the Copper Cliff Main Complex Power Department for 45 years. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family camp on Lake Penage, fishing, gardening, and working with his hands. Special thanks to Wolfgang Rohde who has been a faithful, trusted friend for over 30 years.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and residents at Finlandia Village for their friendship, care and support.

Visitation at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Friday, March 8th, 2024 from 4-8pm. A memorial service will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel on Saturday, March 9th, 2024, at 11:30 am. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Saturday after 10:30 am. As per his wishes, his ashes will be interred alongside his parents, brother, Arnold, and son, David in the family plot at the Parklawn Cemetery in Sudbury and at the family camp on Lake Penage.
