LOUCKS, Alvin Lloyd - February 25, 1948 - March 6, 2012 (64 years) Alvin was the youngest son of Beatrice Wickamakis, grew up in Henvey Inlet as a young boy with his 5 siblings. He left Henvey Inlet as a teenager to work as a dental lab technician for many years in Toronto, raising his family until he decided he missed his home area and moved back to Sudbury where he spent many happy years of his life. Alvin was a friendly, humorous man who loved life very much. He loved his children Rebecca, Richard and Darren and was a very proud grandfather to his two grandchildren, grand- son Ayden and grand-daughter Maria. He was known as Uncle “Pokey“ by his nieces and nephews. He loved animals, enjoyed nature, photography, sports, especially football, billiards, cards, music, movies, Pow Wows, and to fish and relax at his camp near Key River. Alvin loved his Ojibwe culture and was a spiritual loving man. Alvin is survived by his children Rebecca, Richard and Darren (Ramona), grand-son Ayden, grand-daughter Maria, ex-wife Janis, Aunt Mary, sisters Bertha and Isabel, several niece and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Special friends Sandra and Shirley. Predeceased by his mother Beatrice, brothers Isadore & Lawrence, sister Elizabeth and his partner Jean. A celebration of Alvin's life will be held on Monday March 19, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Fire Hall at Henvey Inlet 354A Pickerel River Rd., Alban, ON. Kchi miigwech.
