It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Ranald Alexander MacDonell. Ranald passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor in Sudbury with his family at his side.

Predeceased by his parents John and Dora (nee Hay) MacDonell of Alexandria ON and his wife Elizabeth (nee Goodwin) of Cochrane ON.

Survived by his five sons John (Donna), Christopher (Christine), David (Lynn), Brian (Wendy), and James (Kathleen).

His 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren always put a smile on his face.

Ranald served in World War 2 with the Royal Canadian Navy Volunteer Reserve, based in Newfoundland, with the Medical Corps. He retired from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources in 1985.

A Grave-side blessing will be held in Alexandria, ON at St Finnans Cemetery on Thursday, May 18th @ 2:30 pm with a gathering to follow at the local Royal Canadian Legion.
