MACINTYRE, Hugh Joseph - Died peacefully at home December 23rd. To be with his wife Diana for the holidays and for their 60th anniversary. Born in 1923 and raised at Foot Cape, Inverness County, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. He joins his dear Diane, his parents Francis and Bessie MacIntyre and siblings Ellen, Hector, Alex, John James, Frank, Charlie, Stanley and Paul. Fondly remembered by his sisters Kenna, Martha, Masie and Theresa and sisters in law Helen and Jean. He left school early to work on the family farm, and creek side in the hills of the Cape. Enlisted and served in Europe,1943-45. Met the love of his life and married Diane in Campbell's Bay, PQ on Dec 29th, 1952. Settled in Sudbury and worked and prospered in a long career in mining throughout Northern Ontario. Raised and loved his children Debbie, Donna, Dale, Lorraine, Paul and Linda; spouses Rob Rheault, Rene Taback, John Lambert and William Schawalder. Beloved grandfather of Jason and Kyle (Angele); Caz (Janna) and Shannon (Rory); Ceilagh; Leah and Paige; and Jordan, Duncan, Mason, Sydney and Griffin. Enjoyed a long retirement and kept up the house so that the kids would always have a place to come “home“. Lovingly cared for mom at times of illness and was cared for by her when his health was not well. Thank you Dimitri Goold, Nurse Practioner and Dr Clarke and everyone at HSN. Family and friends are warmly welcomed to a celebration at his home on January 5th. Love you Joe, Love you Dad, Luv u Poppa.
