With heartfelt sadness we regretfully announce the passing of our beloved mother, Edelgard Mader, on Thursday January 19 at the age of 86.
Our mother was a warrior in the face of incredible tragedy. Her limitless strength and perseverance could only be surpassed by the love she had for family. Never letting the shadow of a dark past cast down into our hearts; she proudly raised a young family alone. Loving mother of Dorothy (Dominic), Hilda, Joe, Mia (Larry), Ed and Rene (Lana). Grandmother and great grandmother to a large extended family. She will forever be remembered for her love of nature and wildlife, artistic imagination, home cooking, resourcefulness, and resilience. We are so thankful to have her as our mom.
There will be no service at this time. A private celebration of life for family will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Homes.
