MAITLAND, Robert Alfred “Wayne“ - In Loving Memory of Robert Alfred “Wayne“ Maitland in his 72nd year Wednesday, April 9th, 2013 at Health Sciences North. Best friend and precious husband of Madeleine “Mady“ (Emond) Maitland of Sudbury. Beloved father of Lisa Dunbar of Sudbury and Lee Dunbar (Holly) of Calgary. Cherished grandfather of Phoenyx Dunbar and Carys Dunbar both of Calgary. Dear son of Arnold and Cecilia Maitland both predeceased. Dear brother of Willard “Bill“ Maitland (Ann)of Webbwood and Howard Maitland (Ellen) of Azilda. Uncle of Jeffrey Maitland (Celine) and Leanna Peters (Nathan) of Azilda. Born in Sudbury, Wayne and his wife were inseparable for over 28 years. He worked for the Ministry of Environment and Clean Water Agency for many years. Wayne was a member of the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association and the Northern Wings Amateur Builders Club. He was a commercial flight instructor and was instrumental in many pilots getting their wings. As an avid pilot he enjoyed over 50 years of flying. He also was an avid golfer and spent many days with friends on the golf course. Wayne loved to spend time with family at his cottage on Birch Lake. His joy of life will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Wayne's Life will be held at the R.J. Barnard Chapel, JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Saturday, April 13th, 2013 at 2 p.m. (Friends may call after 12noon Saturday) Cremation. Donations to the NCF-Cancer Center would be appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Gill and his team at the Cancer Center, the 4th floor Oncology Unit, ICU Surgery and Cardio/Thoracic nurses and staff at Health Sciences North as well as all who helped in Wayne's care.
