MAKELA, Ellen Selma - In loving memory of Ellen Selma Makela who passed away Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013 at the Finlandia Hoiva Koti at the age of 77. She was the beloved daughter of Sylvia and Sam Makela both predeceased. Dear sister of Harry (wife Miriam). Dear aunt of Terry (wife Debbie), Rick (wife Linda), Ken (wife Karyn), great aunt of Jennifer (Rolly), Justin, Melissa, Eliisa (Spencer), Kaitlyn, Breeze (Chris) and great great aunt of Katelyn and Blake. Dear niece of Hilda Leuschen and missed by cousins in B.C., Toronto and Sudbury. Ellen was a long time resident of Hoiva Koti, where she had many friends and happily participated in all the activities. She was a long time member of St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran Church. The family wishes to thank Dr. Bakker and the staff of the Kuusi and Koivu Wings for the excellent care and friendship Ellen received. Donations to the Finlandia Society Cultural Fund would be appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held at Finlandia Koti Chapel at a later date. Cremation.
