MANNINEN, Helvi Helena Lydia (nee Ahonen) - Passed away peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Center on March 25 2012 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Harry Manninen. She will be dearly missed by her loving sons Michael and Jim, brother Martti Ahonen and his wife Sandi, the families of her niece and nephew Kara and Mark, as well as her three grandchildren Emily, Ethan and Samantha who knew her affectionately as “Nana“. The family would like to thank the staff at Buckingham Manor, Stouffville Ont and Southlake Regional Health Center, Newmarket Ont for their care and support. Helvi will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a kind person, a loving mother and grandmother, and for baking outstanding “pulla“ bread. The funeral service will be held in Sault Ste Marie at 12:00 noon on Friday April 20, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, 189 Upton Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
