MARKI, Peter - The family announces with sorrow, his death in Sudbury, Thursday, January 19, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Son of the late Peter Sr. and Rose-Alma (née Larabie) Marki. Beloved husband of 58 years to Jeannine Marki (née Pitre) of Sudbury. Loving father to Linda Marsh (Bert), Hélène Marki-Bozzo (Frank), Robert Marki (Claudette) all of Sudbury and Louise Marki of Saint Pie, Qc. Dear brother to Victor Marki (Loretta) of Webwood, Josephine McLellan (late Joe) of Espanola and Johnny Pickoski (Lois) of Kitchener. Predeceased by his sister and brothers Marguerite Lajeunesse (late Rhéal), Joe Marki (late Madelaine), Albert Marki (Donna of Espanola), Stella Elliot (late Bert) and Aurore Walters (late Gordon). Cherished grandfather to Jennifer, Adam, Dawn, Pierre, Robert Jr., Alain, Jesse, Julie and great-grandfather to Riley, Ava and Casey. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. The focus of Peter's life was his family of who he was very proud and his grandchildren and great- grandchildren were the light of his life. He will be remembered for having appreciated the outdoors and having been an avid fisherman and hunter, who also enjoyed woodwork and travelling. The family expresses its heartfelt appreciation to Gisèle (PSW), his nurses Chantal, Meighan, Roxanne and all of the staff and volunteers at Maison Vale Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.The family will receive relatives and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, Sudbury, Wednesday January 25, 2012 from 10 a.m. until time of service. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations (by cheque only) to the Maison Vale Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
