Mary Isabel Hobbs (nee Armstrong) - April 25, 1917 - February 25, 2013. ISABEL passed away peacefully Monday February 25, at the Espanola Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late James Hobbs, loving mother of Isabelle (Clarence) Weist, Frances (William) Thornton, Hilda (Raymond) Whalen, James (Elaine), Robert (predeceased) , Jack (Lois) (predeceased) Velma Jane (predeceased), Harry (Ruth Ann), Bess (Sandy) Houle, Jennifer (Tom) (predeceased) , Clifford (Sharon). She is the cherished grandmother of 28, great grandmother of 48 and great great grandmother of 16. She is sister to Robert (predeceased) (Vera) and Jack (predeceased) (Millie). Born and raised in Massey, married James in 1934, she raised a large family returned to work as a teacher ending her career as a Principal at the Webbwood school. She will be missed by many. As she had requested, simple cremation and a memorial service which will be held at the Massey Anglican Church, Friday March 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Espanola Long-term Care South Wing would be greatly appreciated by the family.
