McDonald, Gloria Jean (nee Frankish)

November 8, 1943 - July 21, 2023

In loving memory of Gloria McDonald, who passed suddenly at home on July 21, 2023. Gloria was a loving and devoted wife of Dan, for more than 50 years. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother was Gloria’s greatest accomplishment. She will be missed by her son Jason (Christine), her daughter Jennifer (Rob) and her two grandchildren, Wyatt and Piper.

Dan and Gloria started their life together in Toronto then moved north to Azilda over 47 years ago. Gloria worked as a legal secretary specializing in real estate for more than 50 years, starting first in Toronto and then Sudbury. She loved helping her clients and stayed connected with many of them after retirement.

Gloria was known as a passionate, strong-willed woman who loved her family fiercely. She was her children’s greatest cheerleader, which remained constant even as adults, and she was incredibly proud of her grandchildren.

Although diminutive in size, her heart and generosity was endless. Gloria believed strongly in giving back to the community, supporting local charities. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Blue Door Soup Kitchen would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
