MCDONALD, Patricia

June 28, 2010

MCDONALD, Patricia Margaret (née Giles) - The family announces with sorrow, her passing on June 25th, 2010, at the Sudbury Regional Hospital. She passed away pain free after many years of suffering with the debilitating effects of Multiple Sclerosis. She fought this horrific disease every step of the way; such a courageous and strong lady. She was loved by all. She was deeply loved by her truly devoted husband Robert (Bob) for over 56 years. He was her husband, friend, caregiver and guardian angel. She was adored by her children Alan (wife Helen) of Barrie, Gary (Caroline) of Sudbury and Carroll Rowlands (husband Gerry) of Garson. She was cherished by her grandchildren Sarah, Bayleigh, Jazmyne, Jamie, Eric, Kristine, Kevin and great grandchildren Jaydn, Kennedy, Ryan and Kassie. She worked for many years at Woolco and loved their “theme days“ because she got to play dress up. She also worked and enjoyed being involved with union negotiations for Dominion stores. She was a knitter, crocheted, painter, renovator and wedding dress maker. There was nothing she couldn't or wouldn't try to do, a real inspiration. Free time and summers were spent by the lake with a book and cup of tea. Many summers at Rainville Cedar Cottages in Lavigne, where family and friends were always close by. Later Norm's Trailer Park - Kagawong, where star gazing, wild flowers, time spent with many special friends and visits from family was what she truly enjoyed. Come and share with family and friends at the COOPERATIVE FUNERAL HOME, 222 Lasalle Blvd. E. (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, Tuesday from  6:30- 9:30 p.m . Donations (by cheque only) to the Multiple Sclerosis Society would be appreciated.
